Primary PE and Sports Premium

Since 2013, the Government has provided substantial primary school sport funding in order to improve the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding is spent on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision for PE and sport in schools.

Schools are accountable for how this money is spent. At Thorn Grove our intention is for all children to benefit regardless of sporting ability; that the most able children are given the opportunities to compete in advanced tournaments; that staff have access to training opportunities and continued professional development. The documents below give a detailed breakdown of how it has been used.
